Relational Somatic Inquiry
What is Relational Somatic Inquiry?
Our body has its own language, and it is rich in story.
Learning to listen to and speak the language of the body requires that we increase our inner literacy; that we slow down and invite curiosity. In doing so, we can begin to understand the workings of our autonomic nervous system and the messages held in our survival physiology.
Sessions with me are experiential, collaborative and invitational. Together we explore what is asking for attention through embodied mindfulness practices; sensing and feeling in the present moment. Combined with elements of traditional talk therapy, Relational Somatic Inquiry works with the body as a resource to gather information. What emerges can take the form of words, images, sensations, emotions, movement, and memory.
Relational Somatic Inquiry acknowledges the wholeness of the individual, and the benefits that can come from integrating the complexity of our lived experiences. By integrating material held in the soma, clients can experience greater understanding, self compassion, nuance, possibility and choice.
This work is informed by current research on embodied mindfulness, attachment theory, trauma renegotiation work, the nervous system and neuroscience.
What do I bring to this work?
I have worked over 15 years as a facilitator and educator. The majority of my experience is rooted in practices that support folks through the modalities of movement, mindfulness, contemplative practices and psychological inquiry.
Currently I am studying, integrating and weaving both IFS (Internal Family Systems) & Compassionate Inquiry into my Relational Somatic Work. I am also deeply informed by the psycho-spiritual teachings of the Enneagram.
My passion and curiosity for this human experience continues to guide me on my path.
I approach this work with deep reverence, grounded wonder, & a generous heart.
Toni’s deep knowledge of the mind/body connection helps me explore the spaces within myself that can become blocked with emotional and physical pain. Her authentic, calm and supportive guidance in this exploration allows me to shift energy within myself. As a result, I feel more empowered in being able to sit with uncomfortable and painful sensations. With Toni’s help, I continue to discover transformative and creative tools that strengthen self connection and contribute to honoring myself more wholly.

Is Relational Somatic Inquiry For You?
I currently work with adults looking to deepen their relationship to Self, and explore the barriers that stand in the way of accessing vitality and ease in their systems.
Life is full of unexpected changes and unforeseen circumstances. Even the shifts that we anticipate can leave us feeling untethered and disoriented, hopeless and alone.
Relational Somatic Inquiry offers an opportunity to explore the wisdom of your own body, so that it may inform, guide and ultimately liberate you from old and outdated ways of relating with yourself and the world.
Are you looking to grow your capacity to meet and hold life’s inevitable changes and challenges? Do you want to respond more and react less?
It may be that you find yourself in a familiar loop and want to feel into other possibilities. Perhaps you have a deep longing you want to bring into the light, or an old story you’d like to soften around? Maybe you’d like to become more proficient in feeling what you feel, or cultivating more space in your system to digest and integrate old wounds and traumas?
This is all possible.
